Terms

Last updated 29 October 2026

Spill & Sketch is a free hobby project run from Canada. By using it you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy.

1. Using Spill & Sketch

You make a fake coffee spill or lightning scorch, print it, draw on it, and can upload a photo of your drawing to the gallery. Making and printing spills needs no account. To save spills or keep your uploads together, sign in with Google and pick a public profile name.

2. Who can use it

You must be at least 13. If you're under the age of majority where you live, you need a parent or guardian's permission.

3. Your account

One account per person. You're responsible for what happens on your account. If you think someone else is using it, email chris@chrismcg.ca.

4. Profile names

Your profile name is public. It can't pretend to be someone else, be offensive, or contain personal details such as your full name, address or phone number. We may change or reset a name that breaks these rules.

5. What you can upload

Only drawings you made yourself. No uploads that contain:

Uploads are checked by an automated filter and may be reviewed by a person before they're published. We can decline or remove any upload, and we don't always explain why.

6. Your drawings stay yours

You keep all rights to what you upload. You give Spill & Sketch a free, non-exclusive, worldwide permission to store, resize and show your upload on the site, and to let other people load the spill it was drawn on, for as long as it stays up. That permission ends when the upload is deleted, apart from short-lived backup copies.

The spills you make are yours to use however you like, including in art you sell. Other people's uploads are theirs: don't copy or reuse them without their permission.

7. Reports

If an upload breaks these terms, use its report button. A reported upload is taken out of the gallery straight away until we've looked at it. Don't send false reports: we may ignore reports from people who misuse them.

8. Fair use

Don't use bots or scripts, scrape the gallery, get around upload or report limits, use several accounts to get around a ban, or try to break or overload the site.

9. Moderation and closing accounts

We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these terms. You can stop using Spill & Sketch at any time. To delete your account, email chris@chrismcg.ca from the address you sign in with.

10. No guarantees

Spill & Sketch is free and provided as is. It may change, go down, lose data or close. To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect losses or for losing your uploads or saved spills, so keep your own copies of anything that matters to you. Nothing here takes away rights you have under consumer or privacy law that can't be waived.

11. Changes

If we change these terms in a way that matters, you'll be asked to agree again the next time you sign in.
